Our Philosophy

At Monarch Spring, we believe in nurturing the whole child. Supporting the head, the heart, and the hands in a balanced and meaningful way.

We believe childhood should not be rushed. Children learn best when they feel safe, connected, and genuinely engaged with the world around them.

Our approach draws inspiration from child-centered philosophies, including Finland’s model of early education, the creativity and inquiry/project learning of Reggio Emilia, and the rhythm and warmth of Waldorf.

Each day is guided by a gentle rhythm that creates a sense of calm and security. Within that rhythm, children are given space to imagine, create, explore, and build meaningful relationships.

Through storytelling, hands-on experiences, and thoughtful routines, children are supported in their social, emotional, and cognitive growth, while developing a genuine love of learning.

Monarch Spring is rooted in continuity. Children are given the opportunity to grow within a familiar and nurturing environment, where relationships deepen over time and a true sense of belonging develops.

As our community grows, we plan to expand thoughtfully alongside our students, allowing each cohort to continue their journey together into the elementary years.

The Experience

Monarch Spring is a small, nurturing enrichment microschool for children ages 4 to 6, designed as a foundational early childhood experience.

Morning sessions are held Monday through Thursday from 9:15 to 12:15. Our program is intentionally small, with a ratio of approximately 1:5, allowing each child to feel known, supported, and gently guided throughout the morning.

Our schedule is especially well-suited for families seeking a part-time, intentional learning experience, including those who homeschool or follow alternative educational paths.

Each morning follows a consistent and calming rhythm that balances structure with freedom.
